Medical specialty groups call for permanent SGR fix

The Alliance of Specialty Medicine, of which SCAI is a member, has written to Congress, calling for a permanent replacement for Medicare's sustainable growth-rate formula before a 26.5% pay cut is enacted Jan. 1. The looming cuts have forced physicians to delay investments in practice infrastructure and consider their practices' work with Medicare patients moving forward, the alliance said.
