Are LG, Samsung giving up on OLED TVs?

LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics are apparently shifting their manufacturing priorities from active-matrix organic light-emitting diode televisions to Ultra HD TV panels, according to David Hsieh of NPD DisplaySearch. AMOLED panels are proving difficult to produce, he notes. Meanwhile, Panasonic is contemplating phasing out production of its plasma TV displays in favor of organic electroluminescence and other display technologies.
