Going-concern warnings drop to 12-year low in 2012

The number of public companies that received a new going-concern warning from auditors reached a 12-year low in 2012, at 545, according to Audit Analytics. In 2007, 1,177 public companies received a going-concern warning. Audit Analytics notes that companies have "gotten more resilient after the recession," which may account for the decrease in warnings.
