How WOMM is helping Fist of Awesome and other indie games


The tools needed to create video games may be more accessible than ever, but so many people are producing games that it's hard for small developers to make their products stand out, game expert Simon Parkin writes. That's why it's important to be passionate about your creation and having a catchy way to explain it so that word-of-mouth marketing can help small titles find an audiences, said Nicholl Hunt, creator of the increasingly popular Fist of Awesome game. "Fist of Awesome is a game that lets you punch a bear in the mouth. That's my hook, most of my marketing material revolves around it, and it's produced a lot of word-of-mouth on that basis alone," Hunt said.
