Iran targeted by data-erasing bug that eludes detection

Iranian officials are struggling to deal with a new strain of malware infecting the country's networks that has the ability to completely wipe computer systems of data. The bug is not as sophisticated as Stuxnet, but the MAHER Center of Iranian National Computer Emergency Response Team, which reported the attack over the weekend, said, "Despite its simplicity in design, the malware is efficient and can wipe disk partitions and user profile directories without being recognized by anti-virus software."
