Shorter radiation therapy effective for early-stage breast cancer

Radiation treatments given in lower doses and at shorter durations were effective among women diagnosed with early breast cancer, U.K. researchers found. Data presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium indicated comparable relapse rates for shorter radiotherapy treatment and standard care.
