Thousands march in France for marriage rights

Up to 150,000 demonstrators took to the streets of Paris on Sunday to urge the passage of a law extending the freedom to marry to same-sex couples. A new public opinion poll found that 60% of French voters are in favor of the measure. However, the proposed bill also allows married same-sex couples to adopt, a provision that fewer voters support, according to the poll.
