Update on STEM teacher recruitment

Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and now New Jersey have created Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship programs. The programs seek to attract teachers with expertise in science, technology, engineering and math to high-need school districts. In New Jersey, fellows will have access to a $30,000 stipend to put toward a master's degree, and universities are taking steps to make teaching residencies a component of teacher training.
