U.S. minority population will surpass majority by 2043

The number of minorities in America will outpace the number of whites by 2043, mostly due to minority groups having consistently higher birth rates, according to the Census Bureau. “The fast-growing demographic today is now the children of immigrants,” says Marcelo Suarez-Orozco of UCLA’s Graduate School of Education & Information Studies. “Moving forward, the U.S. will become the first major post-industrial society in the world where minorities will be the majority."
