England is expected to overhaul curriculum in 2014

England will delay curriculum changes planned for next year until 2014, says Education Secretary Michael Gove. The country is in the process of reviewing core subjects to ensure schools are competitive with top schools in other countries. A recent report found that, to improve achievement, England should focus more on oral language skills and make courses in geography, history, modern foreign languages, design and technology and the arts mandatory until age 16.
