A study supporting longer-duration cardiopulmonary resuscitation topped a list of 2012's 10 biggest research advances in cardiovascular health as chosen by the American Heart Association. Also on the list were studies on the use of renal denervation to treat high blood pressure, the link between obesity and sugary drinks, and the relative merits of coronary artery bypass grafting and percutaneous coronary intervention with drug-eluting stents.
