S.C. bill would give tax credit for long-term-care insurance

A South Carolina legislator has proposed a bill that would provide a tax credit for purchases of long-term-care insurance. The bill, sponsored by Republican state Sen. George Campsen III, calls for a tax credit equaling 15% of the premiums paid, up to $350 annually, for long-term-care policies that cover an individual, spouse or dependent.
