Should ninth-graders be allowed to leave campus for lunch?

A school district in Missouri that allows students at all high schools, which serve grades 10 to 12, to leave campus during lunch has to re-evaluate that policy. Beginning next year, high schools will serve students in grades 9 to 12. Officials say safety is among the concerns with implementing open-lunch policies for ninth-grade students. Some, however, say that allowing open lunch gives students more freedom and prepares them for the real world.
