Early food choices may predict babies' salt preferences

Babies at 2 months of age either dismissed a 2% salt solution or showed lack of interest in a 1% salt solution, researchers wrote in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. At 6 months, however, babies who had been exposed to starchy, processed food with extra salt drank more of the salt solutions, the study found.
