Lieberman is urged to probe claims regarding N.Y., S.C. plants

Sen. Joseph Lieberman, chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs, should launch a probe of potential concerns at two nuclear facilities, according to a letter from two engineers. Underground gas lines could pose a threat to the Indian Point facility in New York, while the Oconee site in South Carolina could be susceptible to an upstream dam failure, the engineers said.
