Mich. county approves employee wellness plan

Allegan County, Mich., will launch an employee wellness program in 2013, using an outside company to help workers monitor their health, educate them about healthy eating and exercise, offer individual health coaching, and create events on managing stress and depression. "The county spends $5 to $7 million a year on health care. It's our obligation to try and get that to come down," said county administrator Rob Sarro.
