VA's VistA EHR receives certification under federal MU program

The Department of Veterans Affairs' VistA EHR system has received certification as a modular EHR after it was tested under the federal EHR certification initiative. The VA is not part of the government's EHR incentive programs, but an official said the agency still sought certification to show its systems are comparable with those from commercial EHR vendors.
