Boys invent successful snowblower accessory

A snowblower accessory invented by two Iowa teenagers is licensed and distributed by power equipment maker Ariens. The product, dubbed MeltBuddy, attaches to a snowblower and releases a small amount of salt when the operator flips a lever. Ariens executives became interested in the device after someone sent them a picture of it attached to a snowblower. "The product has been doing great," Ariens owner Dan Ariens said. "It's gotten a lot of attention in the stores. People have been ordering the accessory with snowblowers."
