ACC's Swift: Chemical industry awaits Euro crisis resolution

The U.S. chemical industry is going strong and buoying the overall economy, with increased exports, jobs and manufacturing driven by shale natural gas, says Kevin Swift, the American Chemistry Council's chief economist. However, Europe's fiscal crisis could threaten that boom. "Currently, it looks like the U.S. is not going back into recession. But all bets are off if Europe gets into deep financial trouble," Swift said.
