Severely malnourished horses were left to die on farm

Fresno, Calif., sheriff's deputies removed starving and neglected horses from the property of a man who had abused horses in the past. Good Samaritans chipped in money for food for the horses, and the 18 surviving animals were taken by the SPCA. "If you can't afford to have a horse, you shouldn't have it. Sell it ... but don't treat it like this," said Deputy Chris Curtice.
