Home Depot reaps rewards following mobile upgrades, study finds

A new mobile website, along with an updated mobile application, are paying off handsomely for Home Depot, according to a Google study. The big-box retailer saw a 100% increase in mobile conversions year-over-year for the first half of 2012 after instituting new forms of advertising, a new website and app features, including location capabilities. "Location is a hugely important signal for any brick-and-mortar business, particularly when it comes to providing a good mobile experience," said Brendon Kraham, Google director of global mobile sales and product strategy.
