Manned spy planes to arrive in Afghanistan within days

Modified, twin-propeller planes from Hawker Beechcraft should begin in arriving in Afghanistan as early as Christmas Day part of an effort by Defense Secretary Robert Gates to boost the intelligence available to troops on the ground. With updated equipment from L-3 Communications, Raytheon and Harris, the spy planes will supplement the surveillance work carried out by unmanned Predator drones.
