Bill to impose death penalty on fake drugmakers' advances in India

India is moving forward with legislation to impose the death penalty on the manufacturers of counterfeit medicines. The government is seeking to curb the extensive production of fake drugs in India, where one in five medicines on drugstore shelves is said to be fake. The bill is expected to be passed easily by the Parliament.
