IAB plans to release privacy guidelines

While the IAB didn't endorse the online privacy protection guidelines released by the Federal Trade Commission last week, the IAB's VP of public policy, Mike Zaneis, said, "There's a lot of overlap in our draft principles and what the FTC released." The IAB favors industry self-regulation over government mandates, and plans to propose its own set of privacy guidelines for the industry in early 2008.
