Ariz. city OKs emergency funding toward domestic violence shelter

The Phoenix City Council unanimously approved a plan putting out a Request for Proposal to area domestic violence shelters that will provide a shelter with $200,000 in emergency funding and create a long-term plan for maintaining the city's shelters. "Domestic violence is a very complex issue," one council member said. "It is one that crosses all ethnic groups and income levels. It is on every street in this city."
