Recycling phones is charitable and profitable

With millions of people getting new cell phones for the holidays, carriers, charities and other ecology-minded groups have launched programs aimed at making it easier to recycle old handsets. It's not just a U.S.-based issue: Only 20% of U.K. consumers recycle their phones, according to FoneBank, a mobile-phone trade-in site that offers cash for discarded handsets.
