Self-adjusting spectacles help innovators see more clearly

Oxford University physicist Joshua Silver is the inventor of self-adjusting eyeglasses -- double-lensed glasses that can be tailored to match any prescription by injecting silicone gel between the lenses. The solution addresses a fundamental inefficiency in the supply chain: the distance between optometrists and lens suppliers, writes Chris Mittelstaedt. "In any business, finding a supply chain inefficiency and coming up with a solution is problem-solving gold."
