Carriers are likely to increase caps on fixed annuities, expert says

Individual insurers are likely to increase fixed-annuity caps next year, says Jack Marrion of Advantage Compendium. Carriers may make the adjustments in light of deep cuts and decreased commissions, said Marrion, who also is research director for the National Association of Fixed Annuities. He predicts that the market for fixed annuities will expand in 2013 because of product and rider innovations, although he warns that educating potential customers will continue to pose a challenge.
