Study finds normal aerobic, exercise capacity among extreme preemies

Children and adolescents born extremely premature were capable of achieving normal aerobic capacity and exercise performance, according to a study in the journal Pediatrics. However, researchers found that the preterm group had an approximately 10% shorter average running distance and lower participation in leisure-time physical activities compared with the full-term group.
