IBM uses SOI technology for flexible chips

IBM has employed extremely thin silicon-on-insulator technology in fabricating static random-access memories, ring oscillators and other chips on a flexible substrate, according to this article. Flexible ICs may be used in biomedical, clothing and security applications, the article notes.
