NuVasive's cervical disc is implanted in first U.S. patient

NuVasive said a patient in Florida became the first in the U.S. to receive its PCM cervical disc, which was approved by the FDA in October. The device, which includes a pair of metal endplates and a plastic insert placed between them, is used to replace a cervical disc that triggers pain or numbness in the arm.
