Technical difficulties lead to end of Antarctic drilling project

A $13 million project to study Antarctica's subglacial Lake Ellsworth has ceased drilling into the lake for the season. The project, spearheaded by a group of British researchers, encountered a series of unforeseen circumstances, including technical difficulties with its equipment, according to a statement.
