Travel demand is expected to slowly pick up in 2010, insiders say

Industry analysts expect demand for travel-related services such as rental cars, airline tickets and hotel rooms to increase in 2010, but the improvements will be made against 2009, a year when demand had plunged. American Express says the travel industry should adjust to a "new normal" because demand for most services is not likely return to levels recorded before the economic downturn in the foreseeable future.
