$500M pipeline expansion planned for improved shale-gas processing

Construction of an additional 70 miles of pipeline will increase the capacity of the Texas Eastern pipeline system to handle gas production from the Utica and Marcellus shale formations in the Appalachian region. The $500 million expansion project is spurred by an agreement among Chesapeake Energy, American Electric Power Co. and Spectra Energy Corp.
