Pilots union says an AMR merger may not be negotiated in bankruptcy

The likelihood of AMR's potential merger with US Airways Group occurring before AMR exits bankruptcy is threatened by discord among pilot unions for both companies, a union leader says. A preliminary agreement about pilot integration and seniority must be reached "in the very near future" or AMR will exit bankruptcy as a stand-alone company, according to a message posted online by Keith Wilson, president of the Allied Pilots Association.
