Unimicron may produce chipsets for Apple

Unimicron Technology has reportedly shown it is capable of producing chipsets with Apple's custom processors for its mobile devices, Tyler Lee writes. The Taiwanese contract manufacturer is apparently planning to put up a new plant to handle chipset orders that it would take over from Samsung Electronics, he adds.
