Cookstove design lab aims for less fuel, emissions

At the nonprofit BURN Design Lab, near Seattle, engineers and metalsmiths are devising new designs for compact, portable and inexpensive cookstoves. "We want to make a stove that uses 50 percent less fuel and produces 90 percent less emissions," said Peter Scott, founder of the lab, a partner in the United Nations Foundation's Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves.
