As bring-your-own-device policies evolve, enterprises are beginning to see the trend as a means to cut costs and increase productivity. Employees are more willing to pick up part of the tab for devices they own, Galen Gruman writes. However, BYOD is of little benefit without the proper suite of management tools in place, Gruman writes. A good way to vet a potential mobile-device management vendor is to observe the extent that they employ BYOD, and avoid those that don't walk the walk.
