Samsung Electronics may face a ban on a number of its smartphones. A U.S. International Trade Commission judge recommended the sanctions Friday following his October ruling that the South Korean hardware firm had violated four of Apple's patents. The ruling, which does not cover Samsung's Galaxy models, would take effect after final ITC action and a 60-day presidential review period. Also on the patent front, Apple has dropped Samsung's Galaxy S III Mini from its legal claims against the company because Samsung has assured Apple that it will not sell the phone in the U.S.
