From a free course-creation platform for college professors to a new app that lets students examine thermal energy, an update on the latest ed-tech product and service offerings.

Illume Learning is a free course-creation tool, featuring a database of syllabi, reading lists, course notes and presentations developed by college professors. A demo on the site shows how instructors can use the platform to get ideas and find and evaluate materials for building their own courses.

iBiome-Wetland, from Springbay Studio, is a science game that allows users to build biodomes and interact with food webs. The game is available for play via web browser as well as Apple mobile devices.

Marshall Cavendish Education is hosting a set of professional development webcasts for teachers and administrators on using the Singapore Math approach. Registration is open now for the events which begin in August and run through September.

CEV launched a new online course, Principles of Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security, to introduce students to career opportunities in law enforcement. The course covers a number of topics including court systems, criminal law history and ethical practices, among others.

Vernier’s free Thermal Analysis app lets students explore thermal energy. Available only for iOS devices, the app allows students to perform a number of functions, including examining temperature changes on the skin and tracking heat caused by friction.
