Starbucks global growth plans resonated with SmartBrief readers

PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, a supporter of Hillary Clinton during the election, was named to President-elect Donald Trump’s Strategic and Policy Forum this week, a story that ranked first with SmartBrief’s food and beverage readers. “I think we should mourn, for those of us who supported the other side, but we have to come together and life has to go on,” Nooyi said.

A few other consumer product stories also caught readers’ attention this week, including Coca-Cola’s plans for branding its ready-to-drink lines and Frito-Lay’s enduring popularity.

Grocery tales were also of interest, including Ahold Delhaize CEO Dick Boer’s post-merger plans and Amazon’s rejection of reports the online giant plans to open as many as 2,000 grocery stores.
