Cox Communications yesterday reported first-quarter net income of $135.6 million, down 80% from the same period a year earlier. The company also reported a 19% increase in first-quarter revenue, buoyed by strong subscriber numbers. The company reportedly added more than 580,000 digital cable, 414,000 high-speed Internet and 224,000 cable telephony subscribers for the year-over-year period.
