Liberty Media yesterday bought a $185 million stake in OpenTV, giving John Malone's company voting control of the ITV software provider. OpenTV says its software is used in 24 million set-tops worldwide.
DIC Entertainment has agreed to create a Sunday afternoon animated programming block for Nickelodeon, a report says. The deal, estimated to be worth $80 million, calls for DIC to develop 39 feature-length original movies over three years.
Concurrent and nCube have struck deals to use new ad-insertion software by Eversteam in their VOD servers, a report says. The technology, called S4 Campaign Director, enables advertisers to slip targeted spots into VOD programs.
