Nextel said it would give up more spectrum in the 800 MHz range than it had originally planned if the FCC awards it the swath of spectrum it is seeking in the 1.9 GHz range. Separately, NextWave Telecom asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York for permission to auction off its FCC rights to 10 MHz spectrum in six cities: New York; Denver; Portland, Ore.; Tampa, Fla.; Sarasota, Fla.; and Tulsa, Okla.
