Though agencies like Expedia and Orbitz still dominate online travel sales, airline and hotel sites are starting to carve out a larger share of the market, according to a PhoCusWright analysis. Many airline sites are luring travelers to their sites through low-fare guarantees, and the percentage of online travel consumers who think Web agencies have the lowest fares dipped 14% from 2002 to 2004.
