AQuantive is adding video-on-demand advertising to its Atlas Internet ad-serving unit. The service, called Atlas On Demand, will also offer marketers ad buying and tracking across multiple cable systems.
Comcast Wholesale has created an ad-insertion tool for traditional TV and video-on-demand that combines its Comcast AdDelivery and VOD systems. The innovation gives marketers, agencies and creative partners the ability to deploy a cloud-based portal for managing campaigns on TV and VOD.
Cox Communications has started deploying ShowRunner, the video-on-demand guide application from Rovi, in its Motorola-based systems. "Rovi's ShowRunner has helped us improve the presentation of on-demand to our subscribers," said Cox's Steve Necessary. "As a result, we're pleased to see consumers are accessing and viewing more on-demand content and discovering programming they otherwise wouldn't know was available to them."
TV5Monde, an all-French cable TV network, today will launch a video-on-demand channel on Cox New Orleans' systems. The offering will feature content on topics such as cooking, travel and French culture in Louisiana.
Nielsen Media Research has sealed a non-exclusive agreement with Anystream, a software and technology company that makes a video-on-demand software product called Agility. The move will allow Nielsen to track VOD content viewing via its Active Passive meter, which reads audio code.
Hallmark Entertainment has made a deal to license some of its movies, TV series episodes and miniseries to In Demand, the pay-per-view video-on-demand company. In Demand expects the titles, which include "Noah's Ark," Fat Albert Christmas" and "The Odyssey," to be available to its anticipated 1.3 million VOD-enabled cable subscribers by year's end.
