A diet rich in calcium and vitamin D, which helps the body absorb calcium, could reduce women's risk developing premenstrual syndrome, or PMS, according to a new study. In comparing diet and supplement use over 10 years among women ages 27 to 44 who developed PMS and those who didn't, researchers found those with high intakes of vitamin D and calcium had a 40% lower risk of developing PMS.
