A new group of Americans needing health care assistance from the U.S. government is forming among the 16 million working-age adults who care for sick or disabled relatives, according to a new study. About 9 million of the caregivers suffer from their own chronic problems, according to the Commonwealth Fund, and allowing a Medicare buy-in for those caring for Medicare beneficiaries could ease their financial burden, the group says.
