While at least 10 hotel projects are under way in Aspen, Colo., the city is still far behind in replacing all the accommodations that have been lost in the past decade. Projects in the works stand to add 584 pillows -- actual spots for guests to sleep -- to the city. However, Aspen's pillow count has dropped from nearly 10,000 pillows in 1994-95 to about 7,300, and the number of lodging properties dropped from 73 to 48 during that time.
