However, a decision to enter the market would require a hefty investment and the development of an entirely new gaming platform, analysts say.
Product designers and marketers will have to take into account new data showing even young children are overwhelmingly engaged by consumer electronics, according to NPD analyst Anita Frazier. "From the kinds of products that appeal to kids to the way you talk to them on packages and in advertising -- it has to be a consideration," Frazier said.
